Revolutionizing Endometriosis Care: EndoCure’s Innovative Approach
Endometriosis is a chronic disease affecting 10% of women of reproductive age. The lack of objective diagnostic tools leads to delayed diagnosis, allowing the disease to progress. Current imaging techniques fail to detect most endometriosis lesions, leaving disease management blind to lesion locations, dimensions, and stages. EndoCure offers an advanced system for the detection, mapping, and staging of lesions through robotic AI-powered 3D ultrasound imaging. Their solution provides the first complete map of lesions, enabling physicians to determine disease stages and tailor appropriate treatments.
From a PhD in Medical Robotics to CEO of EndoCure: Hadas’ Journey
Hadas Ziso is the founder and CEO of EndoCure. She holds four degrees: a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in biomedical engineering, a Ph.D. in medical robotics, and an MBA. With over 20 years of experience in the medical device industry, her journey began with a Ph.D. project under Prof. Moshe Shoham, where they developed a robot for minimally invasive neurosurgery. This project led to the founding of Tamar Robotics, where she worked for 12 years. About a year and a half ago, Hadas decided to take the next step and become a CEO. As a woman passionate about making a difference in women’s health, she researched unmet needs and discovered the significant impact she could have on endometriosis. Realizing the potential to affect the lives of 200 million women worldwide fueled her passion and drive to create EndoCure.
Solutions for Endometriosis: How EndoCure Works
EndoCure’s innovative system addresses the comprehensive detection, mapping, and staging of endometriosis lesions. Utilizing robotic artificial intelligence (AI) - powered ultrasound imaging combined with contrast agents, their system integrates a robotic scanning system with a standard ultrasound transducer. This fusion of advanced technologies allows for the streaming and processing of high-resolution 3D volumetric data using dedicated software. AI algorithms then efficiently identify and characterize the lesions, representing a transformative leap in diagnosing and managing endometriosis. EndoCure’s solution stands alone in offering a comprehensive lesion map, facilitating personalized treatment plans.
Bringing Women's Health to the Forefront: The Emerging Market of Endometriosis
Women’s health, particularly endometriosis, is often considered a niche area and remains under the radar. However, a McKinsey report highlighting a $1 trillion opportunity in this market aligns with EndoCure’s goals and emphasizes its importance. By expanding its network with stakeholders in Femtech and maintaining close relationships with both the Israeli and American endometriosis foundations, Hadas continues to overcome industry challenges and push for greater recognition and support.
